History

The goals achieved by Eleganzia – one of the world's best-loved examples of Italian hospitality – reflect a success story that goes back over 40 years.
Charles Forte, a legendary figure in the luxury hotel sector, opened Forte Village in Sardinia back in 1970. One of the most exclusive resorts in the world, it was taken over in 2007 by a group of Italian investors (led by Emma Marcegaglia) and the resort's original management. This union of talent and experience produced Eleganzia, a new luxury brand that represents the very finest Italian hospitality.
In 2009 Eleganzia converted the Medieval village of Castel Monastero, a few minutes' drive from Siena, into a magnificent spa hotel, creating an enchanting resort in the true heart of Tuscany.
2010 saw the launch of La Maddalena Hotel & Yacht Club and Porto Arsenale La Maddalena in Sardinia's most spectacular archipelago. Built on the site of a former military arsenal, this project merges luxury and design with the magic of nature and the sea.
The story continues. Eleganzia will soon be launching new havens for vacations, wellbeing and business in the world's most stunning, exclusive locations.
