The severe military arsenal has been converted into a stunning hotel, with a magnificent spa and all the exclusive services the Marina has to offer: an apartment hotel, shopping mall and incredible conference centre.
La Maddalena Hotel & Yacht Club is an exclusive design hotel with 96 rooms, including 9 suites (Executive and Junior), 41 Superior and 46 Deluxe rooms.
The refurbishment and interior design projects were overseen by architect William Sawaya of the Sawaya & Moroni practice. The interiors feature important contemporary pieces, including the large chandelier designed for the foyer by architect Zaha Hadid, and chairs for the bedrooms by architect Dominique Perrault, both produced by Sawaya & Moroni.
Sardinian designer Antonio Marras' beautiful marble flooring for the foyer has been retained from the hotel's previous interior design project. The hotel gardens were created by Paolo Pejrone.
In addition the hotel boasts a stunning bar with views over the sea, an à la carte restaurant, a magnificent swimming pool on its first floor and a state of the art spa. The spa has 3 treatment rooms overlooking the water, a Turkish bath, 3 saunas (bio, Finnish and herbal) and offers wellbeing treatments and massages using exclusive Dr. Murad and Terme del Mare products. There is also a panoramic waterfront gym complete with Technogym apparatus and its own expert trainers.
Next to the hotel stands the Overwater Congress Center, originally designed by Stefano Boeri for the G8 Summit and now host to prestige events. Suspended over the sea, the futuristic 1,700 m² glass structure boasts 5 conference rooms with a capacity of up to 300 people, plus an elegant restaurant. There is also an additional conference facility with space for up to 1,000 people.
